Discussion on European security challenges and threats

The Center for security research organized a Discussion on European challenges and threats, which focuses on the most relevant and most credible threats to security. The lecturers icluded the Director of the CSR Aleksandar Nacev PhD, talked about the assymetric methods and techniques on foreign electoral interference, and m-r Rabiè W. Sédrâk, the special advisor for counter terrorism at the CSR, who talked about the terrorist threats, strategies and tactics through an analysis of lessons learned in the Middle East.

The event included guests from the foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Macedonia, representatives from international organizations, academics and colleagues from other research institutions from the country and the region of the Middle East.

On 8th of July, the Center for Security Research held a public debate titled „The impact of mass marijuana production on the crime in the communities“, in the Culture Hall in the municipality of Novo Selo.

The main speakers in the debate were the Director of CSR, Aleksandar Nacev PhD, and the special advisor on counterterrorism in the CSR, Rabie Sedrak, and the event was moderated by Petar Markov MD. The speakers and the moderator talked about the issue if legal and illegal marijuana production and how it impacts the rise of crime in the communities, and how the profits of illegal drug trafficking are influencing the communities.

Within the CSR operational framework, taking into account the relevance of the topic related to foreign terrorist fighters and the process of reintegration of returnees, we consider it extremely important for this topic to develop a useful discussion between directly or indirectly affected individuals, institutions and organizations, during which opinions and best practices for dealing with this process will be exchanged.

For that purpose, we will be organizing the workshop titled „Best practices and approaches in the reintegration of foreign terrorist fighter (FTF) returnees“ on Feb 23, 2021 06:00 PM, which will be held online via ZOOM.
