During the CSR official visit to KCSS – Kosovar Center for Security Studies in Prishtina, we discussed our new joint DDRR program which was designed specifically to address new security challenges imposed by illegal immigration and FTF to Europe.
The meeting was attended by Dr Aleksandar Nacev – Director of CSR, Mr. Jane Jancheski – Deputy Director of CSR, Mr. Martin Stojanovski – Advisor for external relations in the CSR and Mr. Rabi Sedrak – Advisor for counterterrorism in the CSR.
From 3rd to 10th of July, our Head of the Department for law enforcement research Oliver Risteski MA, participed in the Warsaw Euro-Atlantic Summer Academy – WEASA 2020, a program funded by the European Commission and supported by Fundacja Liderzy Przemian, College of Europe in Natolin, German Marshall Fund of the United States and Fulbright Poland. The program covered topics related to the:

– Social Media moderation, Big Tech & algorithmic radicalisation
– Geolocation and open source investigations – OSINT
– Investigative journalism
– Disinformation
– Election security
– Digital security
– Social media
– Data journalism
The Director of the Center for security research, Aleksandar Nacev PhD, had a guest appearance at the tv show „Is something unclear?“ on TV Alfa, in which he spoke about the latest security developments in the country, the reforms in the security and intelligence community, and the conditions in the Army of the Republic of Macedonia. He emphasized that additional work is needed in the crisis management system, and spoke about the need to build individual and national capacities in the field of defence, with the objective to be an equal ally with the other NATO countries.

Representatives from the Center for Security Research took part in the workshop “How to avoid the traps of propaganda?”, organized by Estima.
The workshop was focused on the subjects of use of disinformation and fake news, and how they can be (ab)used in geopolitical and security goals, and also about their influence from a journalistic perspective.
