Today, Tamara Mitkovska as a representative from the Center for Security Research, participated in the „NATO Academy 2020“. Today’s lecture included Col. Zoran Jankovic, Chief of the NATO Liaison Office Skopje, who talked about topics such as the structure of NATO; politics, operations and decision-making within NATO; Macedonia’s membership in NATO. The Center for Security Research through its representative, Rabi Sédrak held a lecture at the Institute of European Studies in Belgrade, titled “The Implications of Afghanistan Crisis on Europe’s Security – Taliban vs ISIS. The event was organized and hosted by the IES renowned Director Professor Dr. Misa Durkovic and Professor Dr. Stevan Gajic.

Rabi gave a comprehensive analysis on Afghanistan crisis, Taliban, ISIS-K, future immigration waves to Europe and the massive ISIS indoctrination happening in Africa right now. Nevertheless, the political climate in the Balkans and the similarities in the Middle East.

Within the CSR operational framework, taking into account the relevance of the topic related to foreign terrorist fighters and the process of reintegration of returnees, we consider it extremely important for this topic to develop a useful discussion between directly or indirectly affected individuals, institutions and organizations, during which opinions and best practices for dealing with this process will be exchanged.

For that purpose, we will be organizing the workshop titled „Best practices and approaches in the reintegration of foreign terrorist fighter (FTF) returnees“ on Feb 23, 2021 06:00 PM, which will be held online via ZOOM.
